We've been to Trattoria Giuseppe ("Joe Scordato's") several times. We returned tonight for an early dinner.
We started with an Antipasto ($6.75). Our request to have it without olives was honored with no problem. This appetizer is big enough for four. A soft cheese (I can't say for sure what it is, perhaps a marscapone or a soft goat cheese), salami, sauteed aromatic vegetables, and red peppers, and salami slices served with four large slices of grilled bread made for a tasty, if slightly messy to eat starter.
My wife had a mixed green salad ($2.75) to start, leaving extra antipasto for me.
I had Veal Stresa (Veal stuffed with prosciutto ham and mozzarella cheese, breaded and sauteed in a marsala and white wine demi sauce, served with linguini and marinara sauce - $15.95). The veal was very tender, prepared to perfection, and the demi sauce was very bold and stood up well to the meat. The marinara sauce was also very thick and bold, sitting atop al dente pasta.
My wife had Chicken in Bianco (Chicken floured and sauteed, served over fettuccine in a sauce of brandy, white wine, heavy cream, posciutto, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese - $10.95). The sauce had a very good, strong cheese flavor without being overwhelming or gummy.
I had a Moretti draft ($2.75) with the meal, while my wife had iced tea ($1.75) and a glass of Riesling ($5.00).
Total for this wonderful dinner was $49.40 plus tip. They do have a dessert menu but we were just too full to be tempted.
Will we be back? Oh yeah! Trattoria Giuseppe is highly recommended.
